Love Is Dead

Love is dead and no one Is mourning. No one mourns because no one knows

They see the flowers, we see the smiles, the soft whisper of sweet words and feel the sensual embrace of the lover.

Gold, silver, pearls and rubies. All beautiful and shiny. Bright lights and starry eyes. Perfect smiles and perfect photos.

They have been carried away by the lure of Eros.

Love is dead and no one mourns. No one mourns because no one knows

No one knows because the impostor is here. He says:

Take it. Don’t give it

Say it. You don’t have to mean it

If you want it, go get it

Have sex with it. You don’t need to marry it.

Love is dead and no one mourns. No one mourns because no one knows

No one knows because no one sees. Blinded by the Impostor’s lies, they do not see. Covered in fear and shame, they didn’t look up.

If they did, they would have seen him. Pierced side, punctured palms and feet, evidence of his suffering. Evidence of true love.

Arms open, heart open wide. Eyes pleading. Waiting. Look he says. I am he. I am true love. And I live.

But will they believe?

I’ve Come A Long Way.

I’ve come a long way.

A long way from sitting on the floor and crying because a boy isn’t paying me any attention

A long way from trying so hard to fit in and be liked

A long way from lying to myself and everybody about who i am

A long way from engaging in risky and dangerous behavior without caring about myself

A long way from hurting the people who love me because i didn’t know how to love myself

I’ve come a long way.

I didn’t get here by myself. God brought me.

Through the pain of brokenness, he lovingly put me back together.

I may be cracked and scarred. But my scars are beautiful.

They just show that indeed, I’ve come a long way.

Face Your Own Heat

How do you learn faith without an impossible obstacle?

How do you learn forgiveness without being hurt?

How do you learn courage without having been confronted with fear?

How do you learn to love without being despised?

How do you learn patience without being pressured on every side?

How do you learn grace without having sinned?

How do you learn mercy without having been offended?

How do you learn self control without being tempted?

God is not against you. He hasn’t forgotten you. You are being given a chance to grow. A Diamond  is just a piece of carbon, that has faced  intense pressure and heat.

Face your heat. Rise up a diamond!

VOICES: A Poem By David (@iamBarzini )

Rain rain go away
The feild is set for play today
Alone i walk in search of clay
Alone i feel inside today
With them she went away they say
Away with them! Oh Lord I pray
Who will save my friend today?
Who will save my girl today?

Where is my child? Where is my girl? Where is my hope? Where is my pearl?
She’s only a child, what does she know?
Why make her reap? What did she sow?
Let it be me, let it be us
Let it be them, let it be just
Let it be fair, let it be soft
Let it be peace, let it be love
What has my child done today?
Who will save my girl today?

The night is black the sun is red
His face is dark his gun is red
With blood he said, the blood he shed
To spoil the child, his rod he spared
I cower with fear, the hour is near
My power is fear, my hour is here
Can not somebody hear me today?
Who will save myself today

#POETRY: What Is Sin?

It is the glory of God not honoured.
The holiness of God not reverenced.
The greatness of God not admired.
The power of God not praised.
The truth of God not sought.
The wisdom of God not esteemed.
The beauty of God not treasured.
The goodness of God not savoured.
The faithfulness of God not trusted.
The commandments of God not obeyed.
The justice of God not respected.
The wrath of God not feared.
The grace of God not cherished.
The presence of God not prized.
The person of God not loved.
That is sin.”
