Every Time You Pass A Test.. You KNOW!

You probably don’t know how much you have grown until something happens to test that growth. Until you face a situation that used to break you down and you suddenly realize that you came out from it standing strong, knowing better and seeing life from a different perspective.

I can say this because it has happened to me. Several times over actually and every time it does, i go like.. wow! Perhaps i’ll eventually get used to it. I kinda hope not. Because i want to always marvel at how awesome God’s work in my life is.

Whenever this happens, i remember Philippians 2: 13 (NLT)
“For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him.”

Trust Your Instincts About People..

It is not every would-be mentor you should rush to. Some people will take you under their wings so you won’t fly higher than them.
Others will ask to “help” you because they see in you a certain ability or talent that they can harness to their own advantage.

Be careful. Don’t hesitate to walk away without a backward glance once your gut feelings says go!

Trust your instincts.

The Most Important Relationship I Can Pursue Today!

Life is full of ups and downs . . .

Dreams achieved and hopes dashed . . .

Every sunrise brings expectations.

So, today I’ll do something with what I’m given and not squander good desire for uncontrollable outcomes . . .

Since the weight of regret crushes a man’s spirit, I’ll choose instead to embrace what God provides . . .

And be grateful for my present, anticipate my future, and reflect on the past . . .

Remembering to yield my will to HIS spirit and to follow HIM above all else . . .

After all, God, you are the most important relationship I can pursue today!

Every dispensation and time has a culture. Too many times generally as believers in the music business we are found depending on God when God is depending on us.
God is depending on us because within us he has put the wisdom to know how to fix our challenges unless of cause we get the point where we are genuinely over whelmed.

Genesis 14:14
“When Abram heard that his relative had been taken captive, he called out the 318 trained men born in his household and went in pursuit as far as Dan.”

The human mind already possess incredible power to find solutions to her challenges, this is why tons of metals put together to make an airplane will defy gravity. Video cameras and photo cameras can capture moments and immortalize them.

GUEST POST: Black, White & Grey Areas – by @Dikky_CIA

If you’ve studied the scriptures long enough, you should  have discovered that there are some stuff that are clear cut black and white; meaning some things are well defined as either good or evil. But then, there are some other stuff that aren’t well defined as either good or evil. These are the grey areas.

These grey areas are usually topics for debates among christian circles, and there are some which most Christians don’t even wanna delve into or meddle with. But then, these grey area issues SHOULD be addressed for the very reason of avoiding negative extremes.

First, let’s settle a fact; anything that is clear cut black and white in scripture is not debatable, regardless of how you feel about it. With that said, the next question is how do we handle these scriptural grey areas?

My Take On The Apostle Paul & His Alleged Sexism

When I read some of the things Paul wrote about women, especially looking at it through 21st century lens, it’s easy to understand why many (especially Non-Christians) consider Paul to be quite sexist.

As a Christian feminist woman who strongly believes in equality, and a great fan of Paul the Apostle, needless to say I found this rather disturbing, and that led me to ask the uncomfortable questions and seek to understand what led my favorite Apostle in the bible to write the words he did.

WOMEN: About Us And Our Nudes…

Why send nudes? While I have asked this question some time ago, I haven’t pondered so much on it like I have these past few days.

It’s very easy to hear ‘nude pictures’ and our minds quickly go to slut shaming the woman involved. I believe it’s time we ask WHY?  Why do females send photos of themselves unclothed to their boyfriends, boyfriend hopefuls or even husbands? (Yes! Husbands get nudes from their wives too!

Every woman wants to feel desired. As a woman I must admit that there’s a certain heady feeling that comes from the knowledge that your man finds you sexually attractive.

PODCAST: The Favored Woman Chat With BRYMO – @BrymOlawale

A Few days after his debut concert, i sat down with Nigerian Singer, songwriter and composer; BRYMO. We talked about what it was like behind the scenes, preparing for the concert, his thoughts on stage and what he plans to do next.

It’s an open secret that BRYMO is one creative soul i admire greatly, if not for anything, but for the immense talent he has and his resilience in the face of industry criticism and outright hostility in some quarters.

Lessons About Living Or Not Living For Myself…

I’ve been living for myself recently. Trying so hard to do things & position myself
in places that benefit only me. No wonder I’ve been disillusioned, tired & worried.
I asked a friend to pray for me. God answered by showing me this:

2 Corinthians 5:15 (NLT)

“He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live for themselves. Instead, they will live for Christ, who died and was raised for them.”

He then pointed out what I’ve been doing wrong and how my motives had become affected.
That shift is so subtle you don’t even notice. You might still be doing good things you’ve always done.. Helping people, inspiring others, maybe even preaching, giving or whatever.

But somehow, somewhere… You motives have become slightly askew. It’s become about you. You become calculative, rehearsed, concerned about how you’re perceived…. Well… It does happen. And it happened to me.

So I had to go back to what his purpose is. HIM ALONE. All back to the audience of one. All about his mission and his agenda.

Still doing the same things… saying the same things… but for different reasons.

Don’t Forget To Pay Attention

I have to remind myself of this everyday. sometimes more than once a day. Because it’s so easy to get carried away by the euphoria of the privilege of teaching that we forget to pay attention to our own lives.

Take some time apart to check yourself, to refresh, to be silent and just be. It’s okay to withdraw for a while..
