Dear Twitter Christians…

Dear Twitter Christians,

I’m sorry if what i have to say makes you a tad bit uncomfortable. Please accept my apologies in advance. For the past few months i have observed in silence, the response of ‘believers’ like you and I to several issues that affect the society we live in, and i must say that our responses have been rather weird. ( to put it mildly)

Lately, it’s begining to look like we are enamoured with flooding the TL with bible quotes to each other, rhapsodizing about how wonderful the verses are, while burying our head in the sands, pretending that nothing about what is going on affects us in anyway.

I Got Tired Of My Own Blog Posts….

I have decided to stop writing fluffy religious articles. That’s why I haven’t been writing anything for some time. Oh don’t be alarmed, I am still very much interested in sharing my faith. But I have since realized that more often than not, sharing my life experiences and day to day challenges and journey with God encourages others more than pushing scriptures down people’s throats.

Not that it’s wrong to quote scriptures, it’s just that I want to relate with you more. I want you to realize that I go through the same things you do. I stumble, sometimes I fall, I think the wrong thoughts, say the wrong things but I’m still on the way. Still holding on, still trusting God and still having faith in his love.

You know it’s easy to tell others what to do. But when you have to look closely into your own life and talk about your own issues, it’s not a bed of roses. Because there are times i don’t take my own advice.

Christianity is a deeply personal journey. It’s a RELATIONSHIP. and relationships can be painful sometimes. It can be rocky sometimes. But it’s a beautiful place to be. So as i share my journey, my REAL journey, i hope and pray that it leads you to be real with God and yourself. and it encourages you to drop all performances because it’s not worth it.

Welcome to a season of realness. I will share my stories. I hope you share yours here too. So that someone somewhere will be encouraged.

Like Kirk Franklin, I’m losing my religion.

Welcome to real life.

About The War Room & Creating Spaces

Have you seen the movie WAR ROOM? I bet you have. But in case you haven’t, it’s basically about creating space for God in your house: literarily and figuratively. And the importance of spending time with god and letting him fight your battles for you.

I must say I learnt some great lessons from that movie and it couldn’t  have come at a better time too. God had been bringing to my attention in different ways the fact that I need to shed the distractions and focus.

Guess what? Immediately after the movie, what came to my mind was: I gotta create a special space in my room as my “prayer and meditation space”, and the next morning, I went about doing that with so much enthusiasm.

GOD, I Trust You. Errr… Do I Really?

If there’s one prayer I have been obsessively praying in recent times; it’s for the grace to trust God more and the strength and courage to let him do all that he has promised to do, without interference from me.

It’s easy to declare we trust God and we are willing to “cast out cares” but when push comes to shove and it looks like our comfort or position, stability and security is threatened, we are caught in the web of trying to solve our own problems the best way we know how to.
