Bishop T.D. Jakes To Sue Secular Rapper, Young Jizzle

According to a special notice on Bishop Jakes’s Facebook page, Rapper, Young Jizzle used Bishop’s intellectual property in his music without authorization. The song; ‘Holy Ghost’ remix by Jeezy featuring Kendrick Lamar was produced without the knowledge or consent of TD Jakes, TDJ Enterprises, Dexterity Music or its associated companies.

Apparently, Young Jizzle took a sample from Jakes’ sermon titled ‘Don’t Let The Chatter Stop You’ and used it in his song, ‘Holy Ghost (Remix)’ featuring Kendrick Lamar.

Diverse reactions and opinions have since trailed this announcement, as some people think Bishop Jakes should not sue because it might be a channel for the unbelievers who are fans of Young Jeezle to be impacted by the gospel, and others think it’s disrespectful of the rapper to use part of the sermon in music that evidently does not glorify God.

My thoughts? I’m a little in-between here… honestly, i am not happy that the sermon was taken an inserted into a song that does nothing to promote Jesus and I’m especially offended that Young Jizzle named his CAR, “Holy Ghost”. (like how dare he??!!)

On the other hand, maybe it’s also an opportunity for Bishop to show non-Christians that we are different. If the situation was turned around, Young Jizzle will definitely call up his lawyers. but as believers, we can afford to let go and let God. right?

What do you think?
