How Satisfying Is Porn Anyway?

Pornography is not the backdoor industry that it once used to be. In our modern world it is out there in the open for everyone and anyone to access and make use of.
With internet based technologies developing rapidly, being anonymous on the internet has become somewhat of a standard and with these being a major catalyst in the progress of the industry, the pornographic “side” of the internet has turned into a multi-billion (per year) dollar business.
Despite the monetary success of the porn industry,  it leaves nothing but a trail of broken homes, broken people and broken lives in its wake.
In the Book of 1 John 2:12-17, we see the apostle warning the people of his time against three lusts and one was likely to experience:
  • Lust of the flesh – the never ending craving to gain pleasures for ones body but never satisfies.
  • Lust of the eyes – eyes that wander about constantly wanting more possessions and earthly riches.
  • The pride held in life – humane vanity that always seeks attention and praise of people around.
Self control never ends up being a priority when it comes to pornography because it promises with pleasures that one craves but behind it lies deceit and destruction enough to damage anyone.
It feeds off on desires in such a way that it can never satisfy you no matter how much you consume it. Pornography is satisfaction that is offered to us by the world and just like all things that comes from the world, it never lasts.
However true satisfaction comes from all that is eternal and that is a wholesome and an intimate relationship with our God who created us. Through Him we will always be pure in our heart, mind, body and soul and that in turn produces inner peace which cannot compare to anything that the world has to offer.

  1. I tink porn hav done more evil dan any kind of gud anybody may tink or say, its nt a tin to do morally and socially, to me! Its more a spiritual n devilish attack on human race. Only God can deliver a man or woman addicted to porn.

  2. He who the Son sets free is free in deed. I believe there is no force of hell, the world and the devil so strong that the Son of God cannot set free. As believers we need to constantly remind ourselves that we are in a battle. The enemy of our soul is relentless. We need to be more so.OUR WEAPONS OF WARFARE ARE MIGHTY THROUGH GOD…..lETS BE ON OUR GUARD ALWAYS.I was once caught in that web ,but was delivered by the power of God. The real power of porn is in the mind.Thats where the fight is.Once we overcome in that realm,we will be OVERCOMERS indeed.

Say something!
